Sytner Group Accolades at the AM Awards 2018

The AM awards are sometimes described as the Oscars of the Automotive Industry, having been shortlisted for two different awards – ‘Best Retail Group (more than 10 sites)’ and ‘Best Training and Development Programme’ - it was with excitement that a team of attendees from various divisions within the Sytner Group headed to the glamorous event at the ICC in Birmingham.

The first of the awards that we were delighted to be presented was the award for ‘Best Retail Group’ (more than 10 sites). This award has been created to recognise businesses in their efforts to ensure the smooth running of large groups, despite the challenging and unique complexities that come with the nature of a large franchise business.


With an aim to always ensure only the very best customer experience across all of our 130+ dealership locations, we’re very proud to have been named as the Best Retail Group with more than 10 individual franchise locations.

The ‘Best Training and Development Programme’ category saw us receive the accolade of a Highly Commended. We are incredibly proud to have been presented with an award that recognises the important and tireless work that goes into continually helping to support and develop the entire Sytner Group team.

Our Learning and Development department work incredibly hard to persistently create, develop and carry out training programmes that allow all members of the Group-wide team to build new skills, increase their potential and ultimately progress their career.

The learning and development opportunities that we offer are something that we take incredibly seriously, so to be highly commended within this category was a great achievement for the team.

It was also with great pride that we were able to congratulate our CEO, Darren Edwards, on being awarded ‘Business Leader of the Year’. This award recognises an individual that has had the most significant positive impact on not only their own business but also the motor industry as a whole over the last 12 months.Being presented with awards in three such important categories is certainly a fantastic way to start the year.

As a Group we always aim to offer our customers the very best experience whilst also ensuring that our team members receive the greatest training and development opportunities possible.

Alongside our eight top 5 positions in the Sunday Times Best Big Companies to Work For competition, these awards help us to underline these aims.
