Bentley have taken their first step towards electrification by introducing a new hybrid variant of their luxurious Bentayga SUV. Benefitting from new levels of technology and an even greater sense of serenity, the new Bentley Bentayga Hybrid is being praised as the world’s first luxury hybrid model.
Offering true silent motoring through the capability of all-electric power, the Bentayga Hybrid is powered by a new-generation turbo-charged 3.0-litre V6 engine and an E Motor that has the ability to offer an electric-only range of over 31 miles. Using the two different power sources, the hybrid version of Bentayga is the most efficient Bentley model ever, creating CO2 emissions of just 75g/kg (NEDC).
Ensuring that maximum range is available at all times, Bentley have replaced the standard Automatic Start-Stop switch with a new control for three E Modes – EV Drive, Hybrid Mode and Hold Mode - each mode gives the driver control over how the car’s battery power is deployed during a journey.
The battery can be fully charged in just 7.5 hours from a household socket but offers the ability of shortening that time to just 2.5 hours when an industrial connection is installed at home.
To that end, Bentley have collaborated with renowned designer, Philippe Starck, when creating a special new Power Dock for Bentley customers. Built from sustainably sourced materials, the suitably elegant Power Dock grants Bentayga Hybrid owners access to not only easy charging but also the faster charging time mentioned above.
With the exception of new Bentley badges presented subtly in copper, the Bentayga Hybrid maintains the same exterior and interior design as the rest of the exquisite Bentayga range. That means that you’re still greeted by a flowing yet muscular exterior aesthetic and a stunning interior that features the world’s best materials and handcrafted details that are seldom seen elsewhere. The all-new Bentley Bentayga Hybrid will be available to order in selected markets in the second half of 2018. If you would like more information or would like to enquire
