Did you know Jaguar Land Rover has its very own brass band? Well, for the last 16 years, JLR has sponsored one of the most renowned brass bands in the country. Guy Salmon Jaguar Coventry were pleased to support the band recently with a photo shoot in their showroom with both the F-Type and the I-Pace.
The band was formed in 1944 as the Air Training Corps Band and over the last 70 years has always been based in Coventry. In September 2002 the band became the Jaguar (Coventry) Band and in 2011, to further align with its sponsor, the band officially became the Jaguar Land Rover Band.
The band works closely with the Public and Community Relations team at Jaguar Land Rover, promoting the marque throughout the country with their fantastic music.
Performing in all of the major concert venues across the UK, the band focuses on raising funds for the community through a number of charities such as NSPCC, Macmillan, Help for Heroes, Myton Hospice, NCH, Rotary, Salvation Army and Ben (motor Industry Benevolent charity) to name just a few.
The band is classed as a championship brass band and is made up of 30 of the best instrumentalists from across the Midlands.
The quality of the band has been recognised with many contest successes; their list including the chance to represent the Midlands at the National Brass Band Finals at the Royal Albert Hall and arguably the most prestigious contest - the British Open - held at the Birmingham Symphony hall.
The band entertains with music that ranges from the classics and big-band to show tunes and more traditional repertoire. Whilst they may be conducting tours in both Europe and the USA, they're in great demand across the UK! Such is their success that they are often featured on TV and radio - you may have even seen them on one of their 10 appearances on the BBC's Songs of Praise.
With a number of recordings under their collective belts, their latest CD has been nominated for CD of the year through musical press. Speaking of this great achievement, the band's Manager - Simon Archer - said:
“It is great that the band's efforts are acknowledged through such nominations and as a result the band will be featured in the musical press in January. We therefore needed a new press photo. We always like to take the opportunity to promote JLR so holding a photo shoot with the F-Type and I-Pace was ideal. We are grateful for the support of Guy Salmon and hope we can support them further in the future”
