Guy Salmon Land Rover Wakefield are proud to be working in partnership with Pennine Camphill Community to offer students with learning difficulties work experience.
Pennine Community is an inclusive caring organisation that is committed to delivering holistic education to young people, with learning difficulties and disabilities, aged 16-25+ years. Pennine Community is rooted in camphill principles and practices and is guided by the standards set by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission.
Pennine is a centre of excellence in an outstanding environment. It celebrates and values the individual, acknowledges individual need and capacity and delivers personalised learning programmes that encourage learners to maximise their achievements in a safe, supportive, therapeutic and creative environment on a full time, part time and residential basis.
Callum (pictured above) joined Guy Salmon Land Rover Wakefield in October 2018 and is loving his time on a work experience placement that was offered through the partnership between Guy Salmon Land Rover Wakefield and Pennine Camphill Community. In the short amount of time that Callum has been working within the team, he has gained confidence, life skills and also the ability to travel independently on public transport.
As a gesture of his appreciation - and because he loves everything Land Rover - Callum has even made a Land Rover Defender out of Meccano!
