With manufacturers unveiling some of the most amazing cars the world has ever seen and the Sytner Group welcoming new brands to the Group and claiming top spot at the Sunday Times Best Companies For awards, 2017 has been a very exciting year for both the Sytner Group and the automotive industry as a whole. In celebration of a fantastic year, we've put together a selection of our highlights below.
Sytner took Top Spot at the Sunday Times Best Companies Awards 2017
This felt like a good highlight to start with. We're very proud that this year we were named No.1 Best Big Company to Work For in the UK. Not only did we take top spot, but the result also marks our eighth successive year in the Top 5!
Aston Martin joined the Sytner Group at Aston Martin Nottingham
Earlier this year, we were very proud to welcome Aston Martin to the Group - completing the portfolio of prestige manufacturers that we represent. Situated in Nottingham, the stunning purpose-built dealership is the perfect place to find your next Aston Martin.
Aston Martin unveiled the new Aston Martin Vantage
The long-awaited next generation Aston Martin Vantage finally broke cover this year! Demonstrating a striking new design language and utilising a 510PS 4.0-litre turbocharged V8, it's certainly going to be a force to be reckoned with. We're looking forward to seeing this one in person.
Combining Coupe Styling and Saloon Practicality, Audi gave us the new Audi A7 Sportback
Unveiled in October, the new Audi A7 Sportback is a stunning car to look at - both inside and out. Featuring design that effortlessly flows from front to rear and all of the very latest Audi technology, it once again demonstrates why Audi are among the best when it comes to creating spectacular executive cars.

In November, we were lucky enough to get our first up close look at the beautiful new Bentley Continental GT. Completely redesigned, more powerful and more luxurious than the previous iteration, it truly is the perfect embodiment of everything Bentley.
We opened the largest BMW dealership in the UK - Sytner Sheffield
Entirely juxtapose to the facility that it replaces (formerly one of the oldest and smallest dealerships in the Group) the all-new Sytner Sheffield is the biggest project that we've ever undertaken. Benefiting from around 5 acres of space, it's truly a sight to behold!
We acquired High Quality Independent Retailer - The Car People
Almost doubling the size of our used car supermarket division, we were very happy to recently welcome The Car People into the Sytner Group. Operating from four large retail locations in Wakefield, Sheffield, Manchester and Warrington, they are known for their transparent, hassle-free, customer buying experience.
Ferrari made their fastest and most extreme XX-Programme car even faster and even more extreme
Named 'FXX-K Evo', the newest member of the XX-Programme family is the most extreme car in the collection. Featuring a new aerodynamic package and various mechanical tweaks, it truly defines what Ferrari are capable of when there are no rules. Definitely one to go and see (and hear) next year.
Jaguar Land Rover Announced that every car in both brand's ranges will be Electrified by 2020
With the UK Government announcing that sales of new petrol and diesel cars will be banned from 2040, we gained a new view of the automotive world's future this year. With the Jaguar I-Pace and Range Rover Sport Hybrid already on their way, Jaguar Land Rover's plans are in full swing.

It feels like we've been waiting for a very long time to finally see what a modern Lamborghini SUV would be like; it seems that the wait was definitely worth it. At home on the racing track, the public road or where the road runs out, Urus truly is an SUV done Lamborghini's way.

After multiple teasing images and press releases, we were all expecting Mercedes-Benz to release something spectacular at Frankfurt. What we didn't expect, however, was a car that not only learns from Formula One but also matches a modern day F1 car in terms of pace. Definitely one to read again.
Porsche left Top Tier endurance racing in favour of Formula E
This was certainly very sad news - we're sure you'll agree that Porsche's presence in LMP1 racing will be missed. In lieu of an LMP1 entrant into endurance racing, Porsche will be maintaining the same team and moving into the exciting new world of all-electric Formula E.

Aimed at revolutionising how people use cars in cities and busy areas, smart's new fully autonomous concept car demonstrates how future technologies might shape the automotive landscape. Carsharing companies are certainly on the rise, so could this little concept be the future?
Volkswagen confirmed that they would create a production version of their Kombi inspired I.D. Buzz Concept
Fuelled by countless letters and emails from Volkswagen fans across the globe, the confirmation that the brand would make a new Kombi inspired Minibus came as very welcome news. The production version will be all-electric and is an important part of Volkswagen's Electric Drive Initiative. One to look out for!
Volvo announced that they'll be making every model in some way electric from 2019
Another look into the future of the landscape of cars, Volvo's announcement came alongside the promise to launch five fully electric cars between 2019 & 2021 and to sell 1 million electrified cars by 2025. Volvo already make some fantastic hybrid vehicles, so this was a welcome announcement for many.
