After teasing the world’s first full-size luxury SUV coupe earlier this year, Range Rover have used the Geneva Motor Show to debut the all-new limited-edition Range Rover SV Coupé.
Created through a partnership between Land Rover Design and Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), the all-new Range Rover SV Coupé sets out to define an entirely new genre of car – the full size luxury SUV coupe. Each example hand crafted by SVO in Warwickshire, only 999 of this trendsetting new SUV coupe will be made.
Speaking of the new Range Rover SV Coupé, Land Rover’s Chief Design Officer – Gerry McGovern – said:
“The Range Rover SV Coupé is a celebration of the Range Rover bloodline. With a dramatic two-door silhouette, this breath-taking four seat coupé alludes to its unique heritage while being thoroughly modern and contemporary. Beautifully realised and superbly engineered, the Range Rover SV Coupé delivers the most distinguished, luxurious and exclusive Range Rover ever built.”
Turning the exquisite Range Rover from a five-door SUV to a three-door coupe has been no small task – a Range Rover coupe was actually one of the first projects to be pencilled in by SVO when they were conceived in 2014. We’re sure that the product of the four years’ worth of work has certainly been worth it; the final car is truly stunning.
An imposing presence in any setting, the Range Rover SV Coupé has grown longer and wider when compared to the standard Range Rover but now sits 100mm lower to help offer that flowing coupe silhouette. Wearing distinctive Range Rover exterior design, this is the first car to be offered with a 23-inch wheel option.
Whilst the exterior may be stunning, interior luxury is the main offer of the day, with Range Rover saying that they have taken the cabin to the level of private jets and yachts. Stepping through power-close doors with frameless glass, you’re welcomed into a light interior (courtesy of a panoramic roof) that features exquisite materials in carefully curated colour combinations.
SV Coupé clients will have unbelievable freedom when it comes to personalising the interior, with Range Rover offering the stunning interior in four front-to-rear contrast colour schemes or a range of single-tone interior colours.
The seats, made with semi-aniline leather in the front, and the central tunnel feature a graduated diamond quilt design that is unique to the SV Coupé.
Finishing off the SV Coupé package perfectly, Range Rover’s new coupe features a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces 565PS. Capable of reaching 60mph in just 5 seconds, SV Coupé has also been named the fastest full-size Range Rover ever.
