Our colleagues at Sytner Leicester BMW were recently delighted to welcome STEM Ambassadors from Madani Schools Federation into the dealership to give students a World of Work tour and to introduce them to the huge variety of roles available within a dealership.
Led by Jon Fryer, Sytner Leicester BMW's Head of Business, the tours covered every aspect of the dealership environment, showing students all of the different departments that make for a successful dealership team. As well as this, Jon also talked to the students about the skills and attributes that the Sytner Group look for in their colleagues.
Throughout the tour, colleagues from the various different departments were on hand to discuss their roles with the students and to answer any questions that arose.
They were also able to pass on stories of their work experiences and any information that would be helpful to the students when it comes to applying for a career, even if it isn’t within the automotive industry.
Speaking about the tours, a representative from Madani Girls School told Leicestershire Cares:
“The whole tour was amazing… it was great for the students to experience the job opportunities in each of the individual departments and they all want to work for Sytner!”
Having completed their tours and asked any questions that they may have, our Sytner Leicester colleagues were delighted to hear a number of students express their interest in working in a dealership environment or in taking an apprenticeship to become a Master Technician.
Across the Sytner Group, we’re proud to support local charities and projects such as the World of Work tours. Dealerships across the Group have already held a number of World of Work tours this year and we look forward to welcoming the next into one our dealerships soon!
