Introducing an even deeper level of versatility to the already flexible Land Rover Discovery, Land Rover have now unveiled a new Commercial variant that is perfect for transporting large amounts of goods.
Built without the second and third rows of seating, the all-new Land Rover Discovery Commercial is able to boast a total of 1,856 litres of load space to allow for maximum flexibility. Benefitting from a powered tailgate and a boot aperture of 1000x735mm, Discovery Commercial can be used to transport almost anything.
Exterior design is entirely shared with the standard Land Rover Discovery; the Discovery Commercial even comes with privacy glass on the back windows so that it remains just like a standard Discovery. On the interior, the removal of two rows of seats is joined by the fitment of a strong metal guard that prevents cargo from the rear of the vehicle entering the front seating area.
As you’d expect when it comes to Land Rover, practicality and versatility have been met by premium levels of comfort and entertainment. As such, Discovery Commercial comes as standard with Land Rover’s brilliant InControl Touch Pro, DAB radio, cruise control and a whole host of other features.
Discovery Commercial also features Land Rover’s unique Terrain Response systems that best match the car’s engine, gearbox, central differential and chassis systems to the current situation. Should further offroad ability be required, Discovery Commercial can be fitted with the optional Terrain Response 2 system, which allows further monitoring of driving conditions and the automatic selection of driving modes.
Power comes from either Land Rover’s Ingenium 2.0-litre SD4 engine with 240bhp or their 3.0-litre TD6 engine with 258bhp. The power is fed exclusively to all-four wheels through an automatic transmission, with both engines creating plenty of torque and therefore affording the driver maximum power and ability regardless of the load that is on-board. As with the styling, the underpinnings of the Discovery Commercial are shared with the standard Discovery; therefore meaning that it benefits from wide-spaced double-wishbone design at the front and an advanced multi-link layout at the rear.
Talking of the new Land Rover Discovery Commercial, Jeremy Hicks - Jaguar Land Rover UK Managing Director – said:
“Discovery Commercial has always been a key part of the Discovery line-up since the Discovery 1, but the latest version brings new levels of practicality, versatility and premium levels of comfort that showcase the vehicle’s hard-working DNA.”
