Where Beauty meets Practicality - introducing the all-new Volvo V60

Continuing Volvo’s recent update of their model range, the all-new Volvo V60 has now been unveiled. Fittingly launched upon the driveway of a family home, Volvo say that the new V60 highlights their pedigree in family estates and combining good looks with everyday practicality.

The smallest model so far to be based upon Volvo’s magnificent ‘Scalable Product Architecture’ (SPA) platform, the new V60 brings the brand’s quintessential eye for luxury, style and connectivity to the mid-sized premium estate range.

As with the rest of the updated range, the exterior of the new V60 benefits from Volvo’s new sophisticated exterior design language whilst the interior follows the clean and minimalist aesthetic that we have come to expect from the brand. Courtesy of clever design, the new V60 offers an incredible amount of interior and boot space regardless of it being smaller than its V90 sibling and its position at the centre of the Volvo range.

Supporting Volvo’s aim to offer every model in the range with some form of electrification by 2019, the new V60 will be offered with two plug-in hybrid engine options. The first is the new T6 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid that offers a total of 340hp and the second is the existing T8 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid that delivers 390hp.

These hybrid drivetrains are being offered alongside Volvo’s T5 and T6 petrol engines or their D3 and D4 engines for those that prefer diesel.

As with every Volvo release, the V60 represents a significant step forward when it comes to safety and convenience. As such, the new V60 comes with the latest version of Volvo’s City Safety system that features Autobrake technology to assist the driver in avoiding any potential collisions – for the first time, this system can now autobrake to mitigate oncoming collisions.

Volvo have also upgraded and improved their Pilot Assist system – that assists the driver with everything from steering to acceleration up to 80mph - with improved cornering performance. Additional safety systems come in the form of various steering-assistance systems, Run-off Road Mitigation and Oncoming Lane Mitigation.

For the first time ever, the all-new Volvo V60 is accessible to customers that subscribe to Volvo’s premium subscription service – Care by Volvo. This monthly subscription service offers members everything they could ever need to run a car – for example: the car, servicing, insurance (if selected) and roadside assistance - in one flat monthly fee. You can learn more about Care by Volvo here.
