In mid-February Porsche Centre Silverstone hosted our first driving day of the year. We invited customers to bring their current Porsche for a health check while they drove the new 718 Boxster or Cayman.
With the help of three Porsche Driving Consultants we carried out 20 test drives on the day. Brian, Keith and Mark are usually based at the Porsche Experience Centre, but swapped the track for the local roads for the day to guide the guests through the new PCM technology and mid-mounted flat-four turbo engine. The customers really enjoyed exploring the nuances of the 718’s on a variety of roads in the area.
The 718’s didn’t get much of a break from driving, as they were back on the roads less than a week later for our Drive Out Day from Porsche Centre Silverstone to Honesberie Shooting School. Alongside the 718 Boxster and Cayman’s were a Macan, a Cayenne, a new Panamera Turbo and 911 Carrera 2 Coupe. The guests drove two Porsche models on the day through the Warwickshire countryside. Luckily Storm Doris had not set in yet, so the guests in the 718 Boxster even managed to get the roof down for a short time!
At the school, the clients received an hour’s clay pigeon shooting tuition before engaging in some friendly competition with the winner receiving a bottle of Sloe Gin and the least points receiving the ‘Clay Conservationist’ prize.
