In May and June we hosted some fantastic driving days with the new 718 Boxster.
First off we had a small group drive out day to Donington Motor Museum for a tour of the largest display of Grand Prix racing cars in the world. The tour of the Grand Prix Collection, which features over 130 cars, was fascinating and delivered by one of Donington Park’s tour guides with great enthusiasm and some brilliant anecdotes.
The museum also encompasses the Wheatcroft Military Collection, which displays an impressive array of tanks, motorbikes and other armoured vehicles which were either the originals used in World War 2 or have been restored.
Following on from the tour, we had lunch in The Griffin Inn in Swithland. The guests had the chance to drive the new 718 and 2 other Porsche models on the day, which made for a fantastic day of driving.
The next driving day on our agenda was to test drive the 718, Cayenne and 911 on a trip to Honesberie Shooting School. We had a group of 16 guests who had the chance to experience the Porsches in a real road setting and have a bit of fun clay pigeon shooting at Honesberie. There was a friendly competition on the day and even a prize for the “Clay Conservationist”.
The weather even allowed for the perfect opportunity to take the roofs down on the 718 Boxsters!
The final driving event took place from Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons. A corporate group who had booked to dine at Raymond Blanc’s restaurant in Oxford decided to add the excitement of driving Porsche’s to their event. They test drove the new 718 Boxster, a 911 and a Cayenne to Blenheim Palace. A great day of driving and dining!
