The third SUV to join the SEAT family will be called ...
In June 2017, SEAT launched a global initiative asking the general public to suggest a name for a new large SUV due to join the SEAT range at the end of 2018.
The name had to be a Spanish place, easy to pronounce in any language and reflect the essence of the SEAT brand.
Over 146,000 SEAT fans voted from a total of 134 countries and in September, the shortlist of just four names was announced : Alboran, Aranda, Avila or Tarraco.
Tarraco is the original name of the city of Tarragona which is the oldest Roman settlement on the Iberian Peninsula. It was one of the largest metropoles of Hispania during the Roman Empire and now is a vibrant Mediterranean city, full of culture, youthfulness, history and architecture. It was felt this reflected the core values with which the SEAT brand identifies.
The New SEAT Tarraco, seating up to 7 passengers, will complete the SEAT SUV family which already comprises of the award winning Ateca and Arona and will be launched in the UK at the end of 2018.
