Staff at Stoke Volkswagen have recently been concentrating their efforts in raising money for the Donna Louise Children's Hospice. The Donna Louise Children's Hospice support children and young adults and their families with life-limiting conditions. The Team at VW Stoke have signed up to a number of sponsored events throughout the year in order to help raise money for the charity. Future events in which VW Stoke staff will be taking part are the Velocity Zip wire challenge on August 18th in North Wales, the "Its a Knockout" event on September 16th being held in Stone and the Bear Grylls weekend in Staffordshire at the end of September.
Two members of the team have just completed the Tour of the Potteries, a 64 mile bike ride which took place at the end of May and included 6000ft of climbing with 4 gradients above 10%. Dave Adams raised £100 and Mike Wilson raised £210. Congratulations to both of the guys!!
On the 1st of July four members from Stoke Volkswagen competed in the JCB Mud Run. They ran 6.2 miles through an obstacle course in an amazing time of just under 2 hours. The team raised the following, Emily Carsons £42.50, Jamie Turner £135, Mike Wilson £215 and Joshua Chadbourne £240 making a total of £627.50 raised for the Mud Run. Once again, well done to the very muddy team!
