The Duchenne Dash is a gruelling 24 hour bike ride from London to Paris where riders take on this amazing challenge to help children with DMD (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy).
The riders will be starting at Harlequins RFC in London on Friday 8th June and will arrive just a day later, under the Eiffel Tower. The team will be accompanied by physios, medics, mechanics and support vehicles and we are delighted to provide a Volvo XC90 to support this tremendous event. Following the Duchenne Dash a few riders will carry on to Monaco to complete the Duchenne Dash Max, an epic ride which also includes some iconic Alpine climbs!
Duchenne UK is a highly focused charity with a clear vision to fund and accelerate treatments and a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. DMD is the most common fatal genetic disease diagnosed in childhood and almost always only affects boys. Whilst the prognosis is improving, there is still no certain cure, meaning boys diagnosed with this disease are facing a life-sentence. Duchenne UK is working to find a cure with the aim to end Duchenne in 10 years.
The Duchenne Dash is now in its sixth year and last year the event raised over one million pounds!
