North London Delivers on ‘Giving Tuesday’

Mercedes-Benz Sytner North London delivers on 'Giving Tuesday'.

Our North London market area took the lead in coordinating a charitable donation campaign for the amazing Food Bank Aid based in Finchley North London and run by Dalia Davis and Richard Alder. Their operation relies heavily on volunteers and of course, regular donations.

Food Bank Aid acts as a central distribution hub for 25 Food Banks spread across North London. They distribute over 50,000 products to the network of Food Banks every week. It was recently reported that 1 in 4 children are now living in poverty meaning that they are missing essential meals on a regular basis.

So a plea was sent to all staff within Sytner Mercedes-Benz North London to donate ‘what they could’, ‘if they could’. The response we received was absolutely fantastic and extremely generous.

Donations came to an end on Friday the 18th of November. A team was arranged to become site specific Food Bank Aid Coordinators who helped collect and store all the donations that were handed in. So a massive and very warm thank you to the following people who did such a great job during the donation period.

The following week, Andy James and Paul Bowrey from our North London Wholesale Parts Operation, expertly organised the collection of all donations from all of our Dealerships and bought everything back to Colindale in preparation for the delivery to Food Bank Aid.

A special mention and thanks to Cheryl Scott, Mercedes-Benz Colindale, who provided us with a very new and clean Electric Van to deliver all of the donations.

It was perhaps fate and highly appropriate that we would deliver all of the donations on the 29th of November now marked as Giving Tuesday. A big thank you to Paul Bowrey who drove the ‘donation van’ to Finchley and also significantly helped with the unloading of the donations.

Dalia and Richard would like to pass on their huge thanks to everyone that donated so generously and to everyone who helped and supported this initiative over the past 4-weeks. They were simply blown away by what we achieved in such a short space of time.

And finally on a personal note can I also thank everyone that was able to donate something, no matter how small or large and also to those that chose to donate money instead. What you did was a huge credit to yourselves and to our company and I cannot thank you enough.

A very proud moment for the brand, our company and our people.
