THE MINI COUNTRYMAN PLUG-IN HYBRID
AGILITY ELECTRIFIED.
THE MINI COUNTRYMAN PLUG-IN HYBRID
The MINI Countryman Plug-in Hybrid brings the best of both worlds together with its dual engine. Built with outdoor adventurers in mind, it helps you to tackle new terrain while emitting less.
The MINI Countryman Cooper S ALL4 Plug-in Hybrid can drive up to 26 miles in electric mode without any local CO2 emissions. The switch between eDrive and petrol drive is smooth and fully automated with no interruptions - allowing you to tackle new terrain with minimal disruption.
The MINI Countryman Plug-in Hybrid combines an electric motor and battery with a conventional petrol engine to offer drivers the best of both worlds. For short trips and inner-city driving, it glides silently and emission-free up to 25 miles 2 on battery power. Any 230-volt power supply fully charges the battery in 1501 minutes at most, using electricity harvested from completely carbon-neutral, regenerative sources. For longer journeys, motorway stretches and short sprints, the MINI Twin Power Turbo petrol engine takes over and regenerative braking charges the battery. The result is consistently better performance and fuel economy, however varied your driving habits may be.
POWER TRIP
The Countryman Plug-in Hybrid takes 6.8 seconds to hit 62 mph. Sustainable driving just got really exciting.
EFFORTLESS CHARGING.
It doesn’t get smarter than the high-tech lithium-ion battery that powers the MINI Countryman Plug-in Hybrid. Kept at its optimum temperature by an advanced cooling system, the battery excels in both output and service life.
KEEP ON ROLLING.
The MINI Countryman Cooper S All4 Plug-in Hybrid drives up to 26 miles in electric mode without any local CO2 emissions. The switch between eDrive and petrol drive is smooth and fully automated with no interruptions - just the way you like it. Auto eDrive is your default mode. It's electric and petrol working in perfect harmony, without you needing to lift a finger. Max eDrive only uses electric power, and no combustion engine means no fuel costs. Meanwhile, Save Battery uses petrol only and charges the battery at the same time.
ON THE ROAD
Q. What happens if my battery runs low?
A. Switch to Save Battery mode and carry on your journey using the petrol engine. The electric battery charges up again as you move. Once you get home or reach a charging point, simply plug in for your car to start charging again.
Q. How does the switch between electric and petrol happen?
A. Auto eDrive, the default mode, chooses the most efficient combination of the electric motor and the petrol engine. This will depend on your speed, acceleration and battery status.
Q. How does charging on the move actually work?
A. Save Battery mode uses the petrol engine to power your car, while simultaneously charging the battery (or keeping it at 90% charge). The electric motor converts the energy generated from braking and coasting to give itself a boost.
AT HOME
Q. How will charging at home affect my electricity bill?
A. Ideal for savvy savers, the MINI Plug-in Hybrid lets you set a time window for charging that has a favourable electricity rate, such as during the night. Select the low-cost time slot via the Central Information Display.
Q. How does charging at home work?
A. You will be provided two cables with your MINI. The level one charging cable can be used in a household socket and will charge your car in just over three hours. The level two cable can be used in a wall box or at a charging station and will charge your car in just over two hours. Wall box installations are quick and easy, and we are able to arrange one for you.
Q. Do I have to get up early to charge it in the morning?
Y. This is one plug-in hybrid that late risers will love: just set a departure time via the Central Information Display and your MINI will charge itself ready for when you need to leave. You can even set it to be the perfect temperature for when you step inside
