Meet the Apprentice.

Be inspired to start your career.

Meet Daniel Broadwell, Vehicle Technician Apprentice at Sytner Newport.

  1. How long have you been an apprentice at Sytner BMW/MINI? I have been an apprentice with Sytner for just over 4 years.

  2. What made you apply for an apprenticeship role with Sytner? I have always known I wanted a job where cars played a part. When the opportunity arose to join Sytner BMW as an apprentice, I decided this would be a great starting point for my career. BMW is also a fantastic brand with some amazing cars.

  3. What advice would you give to someone looking to apply for an apprenticeship? Go for it! The opportunity to learn on the job will be invaluable. You're also getting paid to learn. It'd be a great start to any career.

  4. What does an average day look like for you? Days can vary for me. Being an apprentice I'm responsible for some cleaning and maintenance requirements around the workshop, as well as some health and safety requirements. My day can then range from small services for waiting customers, to assisting other technicians with more complex diagnosis procedures.

  5. What is your favourite part about your current role? My favourite part about my job is that no two days are the same. The range of things we can do means that each job can present something completely different to the last. The range of cars we have means that each job presents a completely different car. I love to see the development from older to newer models.

  6. What is your greatest achievement? My greatest achievement is passing my Level 3 hybrid qualification as an apprentice, alongside technicians who had 20 or 30 years more experience than me.
