Emma Storer, Divisional Stock Administrator, answers our Women in Business questions.

  1. How long have you worked for Sytner BMW/MINI? Almost 7 Years.

  2. How long have you been in your current role? 19 Months.

  3. What is your favourite part about your current role? I enjoy all aspects of my role but most favourite part and the most rewarding is assisting all sites in group by securing stock units, as ultimately there is a happy customer at the end of the process!

  4. What motivates you in the morning? Positivity is key! Waking up with a positive attitude which always enhances my motivation for the day ahead. Not forgetting a nice strong coffee!

  5. Three words to describe yourself? Honest, Hardworking, Loyal.

  6. What is your greatest achievement? So when starting my Sytner journey in 2015 I began working for the Corporate Hub. After just over 5 years of loyal service and commitment, gaining knowledge and growth on both brands an exciting new opportunity arose - A brand new team was being set up “Divisional Stock Control Team”. I applied internally for the new role and got the job! 19 months later the team continues to blossom with overcoming challenges of the current climate along the way and having to adapt which I am proud to be a part of. I have now gained knowledge and experience in both the Corporate and Retail world at Sytner which I feel is a great achievement.

  7. What advice would you give to someone aspiring to be in your role? Stay focused, use your own initiative and communicate well with others.

  8. How have you seen the Automotive industry landscape change and evolve to engage more women? When I started my journey at Sytner I worked in an office which was 90% women. The sales floor was predominantly male led however as the years have gone by more women are filling different roles including the sales teams and management, which is amazing to see.

  9. Top tip for how you organise your days? Make realistic to do lists for the day, give 100% all day every day and focus on what’s important.

  10. Top tip for working in the automotive industry? Be self-motivated to set your own goals and have faith in your own personal growth, doing so with a smile which costs nothing.
