Pippa Slater, Bodyshop Estimator at Sytner Tamworth, answers our Women in Business questions.

  1. How long have you worked for Sytner BMW/MINI? I have worked for Sytner BMW Tamworth for just over 3 years.

  2. How long have you been in your current role? I have been in my role for over 3 years, initially joining as an apprentice estimator, completing my aftersales apprenticeship this June in customer service and aftersales. I have now been employed full time as a front of house bodyshop estimator.

  3. What is your favourite part about your current role? Meeting all the different types of customers and watching their cars go through the journey of repairs.

  4. What motivates you in the morning? My 9 year old Cavalier King Charles spaniel waiting patiently for her breakfast.

  5. Three words to describe yourself? Ambitious, Approachable, Loyal

  6. What is your greatest achievement? Recently purchasing my first property on my own.

  7. What advice would you give to someone aspiring to be in your role? Be confident and willing to take on new challenges, adapting to each individual situation

  8. How have you seen the Automotive industry landscape change and evolve to engage more women? More opportunities and understanding of females within a range or roles, customers more aware of the variety of individuals within each role.

  9. Top tip for how you organise your days? Make a list of daily tasks which can then be prioritised throughout the day.

  10. Top tip for working in the automotive industry? Be patient, honest and approachable.
