Sharon Rickers, Head of Business at Sytner Tamworth, answers our Women in Business questions.

  1. How long have you worked for Sytner BMW/MINI? I initially joined the Sytner team in 2002 and then moved to BMW / MINI Division in 2005.

  2. How long have you been in your current role? My latest role as Head of Business I’ve been in since 2015, moving to Sytner Tamworth in Dec 2019.

  3. What is your favourite part about your current role? Helping to develop our managers of the future.

  4. What motivates you in the morning? To get the most out of each day.

  5. Three words to describe yourself? Passionate, Committed & Motivated.

  6. What is your greatest achievement? My nomination for Head of Business of the year for BMW UK.

  7. What advice would you give to someone aspiring to be in your role? Work hard to exceed in your current role and set yourself goals.

  8. How have you seen the Automotive industry landscape change and evolve to engage more women? Our recruitment is where it all starts! I had to move companies to become a Sales Executive in the early ninety’s, today we actively encourage diversity.

  9. Top tip for how you organise your days? I’m a big believer in having a plan, I love a list LOL!

  10. Top tip for working in the automotive industry? Massively rewarding both financially and emotionally, opening opportunities I never thought I could have.
